In January, The French Olive joined the California Olive Oil Council whose goal is to give consumers confidence in the oils they are purchasing. The COOC is also an advocate for the California olive oil industry to produce quality olive oil unlike many of the imported oils that are under-regulated and questionable in quality.
In their certification program, only 100% extra virgin olive oils free from defects earn the right to display the COOC Seal of Certification. Those oils made from 100% California olives who meet the program requirements and high standards are awarded the seal.
